Spring 2025 litters.
We have some exciting news!!! November was a hectic and scary month as I had a cancer scare that required surgery to biopsy and all of my girls went into season early and at the same time. Thankfully, the lesion was benign. We planned on having 2 litters this spring, but at this point it looks like we will be having 3 litters. Spring is always our busiest time as we don’t usually have more than 1 litter later on in the year. Roxy had what is called a split heat. She cycled at the expected time and then cycled again 2 months later instead of 6 months later. So instead of having pups late spring, she will be having pups the beginning of January. Next up is a girl I have in a guardian home. This guardian family is her forever home, but she will come to my house to have her pups and stay until her pups go to their new homes. She is 4 years old and this will be her first litter. We’ve had a difficult time breeding her naturally over the last few years, so we performed an artificial insemination at my reproductive vet office. He didn’t think it would take because we were a little late getting her to the vet. My surgery date would have been the ideal day for the AI, but I was way too stressed to try to coordinate that the same day. So, we thought it was once again a long shot that she was pregnant, but she is! Ruby was the next to go into season. Thinking the AI didn’t take for Annie, we went ahead and bred Ruby. She is also pregnant.
The excitement is brewing at our house! We are getting prepared for our busy spring and have enlisted the help of friends and neighbors. We have had multiple litters at once before and feel we have it down to a science. As usual, they will all be raised in our home. All of the litters will be ready for their new homes in March. Unfortunately, we don’t have too much flexibility to hold the pups longer than their go home days, so please plan accordingly.
Because we are having more pups than anticipated, we are opening up our deposit waitlist again. If you would like a pup from these litters, please contact me asap as spots tend to fill up quickly. We will not hold your spot on the waiting list without a deposit or without speaking to me first. This is the only way we know you are serious about getting one of our pups. It also helps us have a better idea of how many families will be choosing a pup out of these litters versus how many pups are available.
Please follow us on instagram at hillside_ havanese or Facebook at Hillside Havanese. We have lots of pictures and videos with info on how we raise our pups. I cannot answer any questions about the pups on social media as it is against their rules, so please contact me by email or call/text.
We do not give full breeding rights. All pups are $2000. We may be increasing our prices for any future litters after the spring litters as we are significantly lower than any other breeder who health tests all of the parents and uses an official puppy rearing protocol. Costs have gone up significantly, but our prices have not. Thank you for understanding.
Pictures of Roxy’s first litter last year. She had 8 pups. This is a repeat breeding with Kip, so we can expect more of the same. Most of these pups ended up being a lot darker red once in their new homes than they were before they left my house. They had the sweetest temperaments also. UPDATE: Roxy has had her pups. 3 girls and 5 boys. All doing amazing!
Annie was also bred with Kip and this is her first litter. She is completely health tested and so are her parents. Below are some pictures of her siblings before going to their forever homes. This breeding has been long awaited and we are beyond excited! Annie is red with white patch on her chest, so we can expect more reds and possibly black and white. UPDATE: Annie had 5 beautiful babies, 2 boys and 3 girls.
Ruby was bred with Harley. Below are pictures of her last litter. This is not a repeat breeding. A different stud was used last time. UPDATE: Ruby had 4 pups, 1 boy and 3 girls. All doing amazing.
All of the puppies will be AKC registered and will come with limited AKC registration. This shows that the pups are registered/papered, but will not be allowed to breed. I DO NOT sell the puppies with full AKC breeding rights. Papers will be sent to new families after proof of spay/neuter, which is stated in a signed contract. Our pups will come microchipped AND the microchip will be preregistered with AKC reunite or FiNano. Usually the registration will cost extra for the families, but we have decided to provide this benefit in order to ensure they have been registered. The new families name will be first on the microchip information and then our name will be secondary in case the family moves or forgets to register the pup. Our main concern is always for the pups and we want to make sure that in the event they are lost, they will never be put up for adoption at a shelter.
A non refundable deposit to hold a pup until they are ready to go home is $300 and will go towards the purchase price. Choice of puppy based on the order in which deposit was received. We will not hold a puppy without a deposit. We reserve the right to have 1st pick of any litter. We accept Zelle, Good Dog pay and cash.
Our farm is about 1 hour from Boise, Idaho, but we no longer accept visitors. Too many breeders I know that have taken many precautions with visitors still contracted parvo, which is often times fatal to the entire litter. It’s just too risky. Our puppy families have been very happy to select a puppy based on the many pictures and videos provided and through my recommendations.
Ask for details on delivery, most times we can deliver anywhere in the United States. There may be an extra charge for delivery depending on the distance. We often hand deliver anywhere in Idaho, Oregon, Washington and Utah. I have also met many families at our local airport in Boise, Idaho and have delivered to their local airport.
Please call/text my cell phone or email me. Sometimes my cell doesn’t work as well when I’m at home, so if I don’t respond, please try again later or email me. Although I try to return phone calls promptly, sometimes I cannot get back to you right away. I can assure you that I do return calls in the order they were received, so you don’t miss out on the puppy you were wanting unless someone else called before you.
